Description
Attended the Lynchburg Regional Air Show yesterday, and had a blast despite the muddy conditions. Headlining was the US Navy Blue Angels.
I shot off four rolls of film, safe to say I would have been the only person there shooting medium format film. But this photo presented itself after I'd used up the last roll, so I used what I had available - my cellphone.
Just to our right of where we sat was one of the original aircraft which took part in the Berlin Airlift. Near the end of the show, one of its crew members walked out to the end of the wing and sat down to watch the last few minutes of the Angels' performance. By blind chance I managed to time this shot perfectly, and be positioned perfectly, to get what I got here. It isn't at all sharp, but it tells a story every bit as well as anything I might have grabbed using a better camera.
